Whether running a Kit-Based game, a Digital Game, or Utilizing Student Game Design, teachers can now award badges to their students. These unique achievements recognize and reward the 4Cs and SEL skills students demonstrate during any Breakout EDU experience. While the game can be something that players either complete or don’t, badges are a way for facilitators or observers to capture and note student growth and participation in these powerful and important areas.

Badges are a great way to motivate and engage students. Use them during the play of a kit based game to recognize students who display good leadership or communication. Encourage students to keep trying with a “Grit” or “Perseverance” badge when you see they stuck with a digital game until they “Broke Out”. Reward creativity and critical thinking when used in the design of a game with the Game Design Studio. There are countless ways to capture and note student growth and participation.
